I realise that my online presence has been lacking the past few weeks - it's a combination of things, really. I've been feeling really down on life, a lot of things stressing me out (uni, lack of work, etc) and I'm trying to turn that around. I'm already feeling quite a bit happier, but my general mood goes up and down so frequently that it really can't be trusted!
Anyway, I've been missing the blog terribly, and I want to get back into regular outfit posting - and I think I've found a solution to motivate myself! I'm a new fan of kendieveryday, a gorgeous blogger who created a challenge for herself a month ago, to create outfits from only 30 pieces of clothing for 30 days. She's been doing such a beautiful job that I want to try it out myself - not only do I think that it will motivate me to enjoy getting dressed again, but hopefully I will also learn to appreciate what is already in my closet!
I'm making my owns rules a bit with the challenge (why not, really) and I've decided that the 30 items includes only clothing and shoes (pictured below). I've included 10 additional accessories (scarves, belts, etc) and I think this is what I will struggle with the most. I don't know how to live without my excessive scarf collection!
Pants & shorts: Sportsgirl 'boyfriend' jeans, Cotton On denim shorts, Lee Riders black skinny jeans, Portmans cropped and pleated grey pants.
Skirts: Witchery beige silk skirt, Forever New floral silk skirt, Aquabella black jersey maxi skirt, Target black tulip skirt.
Dresses: Miss Shop blue summer dress, FCUK red striped dress, Tokito graphic silk dress, thrifted white eyelet dress, Jeans West grey knit dress, Sportsgirl pink knit dress, Cooper St white pearl woolen dress.
Lightweight tops: Witchery white ruffled vest, Bardot striped knit top, pin-up girl tee, Witchery shirt, secondhand green H&M top.
Long sleeved tops: Ralph Lauren navy sweater, Bardot striped batwing top.
Jackets: Target red swing coat, Witchery navy & gold cardigan, Tokito navy blazer, Sportsgirl anorak.
Shoes: cheap white tennis shoes, thrifted camel boots, Sportsgirl wedges, Target camel flats, Wittner black heels.
The challenge starts tomorrow (on the 30th, it must be good luck!) and I'm really looking forward to it. Wish me luck!!
Oh, and P.S - I just found out that I got a job as an assistant manager at a thrift store nearby. Um, who knew you could actually get paid to work there??? So excited!!
