Bardot romper, Sportsgirl cut-off tee (underneath), Forever 21 scarf, Rubishoes flats.

Did more sales shopping tonight - I went on Proclamation Day and got lots of clothes etc, and tonight just picked up some bits-and-pieces for the house. It's been wayyyy too hot for proper outfits, but I promise I will debut my new clothes sometime soon!

merry (almost) xmas!

I have been super busy the last few days, hence the lack of posting! Today I did some last minute things for tomorrow, and cleaned our house in preparation for kitty-sitting! We're looking after the beautiful little girl who I featured a couple of posts ago - she sure made my present wrapping interesting!

Portmans pants, Diva necklace, Sportsgirl bag, Rubishoes flats. The amazing t-shirt is a gift from my lovely friend Kristy for my 21st!

Have a Merry Christmas everyone! Wishing love, safety & happiness to you all, and your loved ones!

Just a few things I've done this week...

  • Finished work for the holidays - I have a glorious month-long break!
  • Watched one of my favourite movies, Bus Stop
  • Found the perfect wallet (I am yet to purchase, though!)
  • Accidentally completed my Christmas shopping - by accidentally, I mean that I somehow picked everything up without doing any intentional shopping! I framed some photos for my parents, and also got my mum a calendar and my dad some manly beauty products; I bought a tee for one of my brothers, and a magazine subscription for the other! Done! Lover and I aren't doing presents this year...my new camera is a birthday/xmas pressie :)
  • Written a proof for an article for our first university magazine next year.
  • Had a meeting with my brother's oncologist about the possibility of my donating bone marrow if he needs it - this eased my mind a lot.
This week I will be cleaning, cooking and wrapping presents (my favourite part!).

What did you do this week?

How amazing is the Upstate New York home of photographer Dan Martensen and his model partner Shannan Click?!

This is my perfect home - a semi-loft with so much character it's evident who it belongs to! I can't wait to be free from renting...

Work outfit today:

in the ghetto.

Fairly boring outfit from today:

Bardot ruffle top and tapered pants, Sportsgirl vest, thrifted belt, Target flats.

Worn for coffee, followed by a BBQ and a play with a stray kitten Alex's sister found - we named her Ghetto (NOT my idea!). Ain't she cute?!

trends 2009.

~ ~
As we come increasingly close to the end of 2009, I've been thinking some of my favourite trends from this year. Here are some that I think will be quite memorable!

1. Biker chic
This trend is not going anywhere any time soon! We've learnt the ways of a soft leather jacket and gold studs, and their simple power to make us feel simultaneously tough and stylish. The catwalk loves biker chic, and so do we!

Haider Ackermann

Jean Paul Gaultier

2. Animalia
Love them or hate them, animal ears were the risky trend-to-try in celebland this year. Madonna was laughed and MK&A were applauded (as usual). I'll let you make up your own mind!

3. Style Icon - Emma Watson
The little British girl from Harry Potter has been transformed into a style icon for our age. With the assistance of a Burberry ambassadorship, Emma was stepping out in 2009 looking like a natural in designer rags. I also think this helped her get away from that horribly plain boy she was with, and moved on to a Spanish rock god :)

4. Celebaby style
All of a sudden, we're obsessed with the fashion sense of the sons and daughters of our favourite celebrities, in a way that it has never been before. This week, Suri's heels are a scandal almost as big as Tiger Woods! Here are some of the kiddies we can't get anough of:

Honor Marie Warren (daughter of Jessica Alba and Cash Warren)

Suri Cruise - daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise

Henry Samuel (son of Heidi Klum and Seal)

Harlow Madden - daughter of Joel Madden and Nicole Ritchie

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt (daughter of Angeline Jolie and Brad Pitt)

5. Those shoes
Alexander McQueen really outdid himself this year - only no one was looking at the beautiful clothing clooection when these babies were trekking down the runway! Few celebs have been game to brave the shoes, Lady Gaga and Daphne Guinness amongst them. They took over our blogs and favourite fashion websites - definitely the most memorable shoe of the year.

6. Twilighter fashion
Personally, I think the only one of them with any style is Ashley Green. Nikki Reed makes odd choices, and Kristen has been sporting that whack haircut all year (I know it's not her fault, but I'm definitely not convinced that she's now stylish because she's been wearing designer threads lately!). The boys are fairly boring too. But we can't open a mag without seeing one of them this year, so here's some of the good, bad and ugly:

My favourite Kristen look. She looks stylish, but it suits her personality and I actually think it's something she might have actually chosen herself!

Fatten up her legs a bit and this is actually okay too!

It's a bit much, I know. But she still looks gorgeous! Jeans and different shoes wouldn't have gone astray, but still, she tried.

I actually really love this. The bustier is cute. Not a huge fan of the shoes, but it's the perfect Teen Choice Awards outfit.

What. Is. This. Nikki, you look like Little Bo Peep. Please get a stylist for 2010.

What were your most memorable moments from this year?
